IATA Dangerous Goods Awareness Course for Category 4 & 5 Personnel
The Dangerous Goods Awareness course is an introductory course for personnel employed by or working on behalf of operators, freight forwarders, cargo agents and agencies acting on behalf of operators involved in the acceptance of general cargo (non Dangerous Goods). This course allows participants to gain a basic understanding of the classification, identification and handling of Dangerous Goods.
This course is mandatory for general cargo acceptance personnel and warehouse and transportation personnel of freight forwarders. Hong Kong Legislation (Regulations 7A and 7B of the Dangerous Goods (Consignment by Air)(Safety) Regulations, Chapter 384A) stipulates that category 4 and 5 personnel* of freight forwarders need to undergo Dangerous Goods Awareness training every 24 months. In addition, all relevant training records or certificates shall be made available upon inspection carried out by authorized officers from the Civil Aviation Department.’

Duration: 0.5 day, 9:00 - 13:00 and/or 14:00 - 18:00

Medium of instruction: Cantonese supplemented with English terms

Accreditation: The course is an IATA accredited course and approved by the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department
Requirements: Participants must be able to understand and write English or Chinese
Assessment: a short 20-question multiple choice test will be given at the end of the course, the test is in Chinese and English |
