Our Dangerous Goods Regulations courses for role b& and d& personnel are approved by the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department

Chem Freight Hong Kong Ltd. is an IATA Accredited Training School specialising in programmes to promote the safe and efficient transport of dangerous goods (DG) air cargo.

We offer the following Dangerous Goods Regulations courses:
• IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations for Personnel responsible for preparation of DG consignments (role a) and Personnel of Freight Forwarders responsible for processing or accepting DG consignments (role c) - Initial (5 days) under review
• IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations for Personnel responsible for preparation of DG consignments (role a) and Personnel of Freight Forwarders responsible for processing or accepting DG consignments (role c) - Recurrent (3 days) under review
• IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations course for Personnel of Freight Forwarders Responsible for Processing or Accepting Goods Presented as General Cargo (role b) and Personnel of Freight Forwarders Responsible for Handling Cargo in a Warehouse and Loading and Unloading Unit Load Devices (role d) - available

Features of our IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations programme

• Mandatory for shippers, forwarders, agents and airline personnel who wish to become qualified to handle DG to be transported by air
• Approved by the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department as a Dangerous Goods training course provider.*

* Note - Regulations 7A and 7B of the Dangerous Goods (Consignment by Air)(Safety) Regulations, Chapter 384A of the Laws of Hong Kong stipulate that staff members of freight forwarders should have completed dangerous goods training programme commensurate with their functions and approved by the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department, and receive recurrent training every 24 months. The staff members include:

1) Personnel involved in preparing dangerous goods consignments, (role a);
2) Personnel involved in processing cargo containing declared dangerous goods (role c); and
3) Personnel involved in processing cargo other than dangerous goods (role b); and
4) Personnel involved in handling, loading and storing cargo (role d).

 


We use the latest IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations 65th edition which is based on the 2023-24 edition of ICAO Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air.
What's new in IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations in 2023?  

Packing Instructions

PI 965 to PI 970

● Deletion of Section II of Packing Instructions PI 965 (for UN 3480 Lithium ion batteries) and 968 (UN 3090 Lithium metal batteries); and

● Addition of Stack Test in Section IB of PI965 and PI968 "Each package must be capable of withstanding, without damage to the cells or batteries contained therein and without any reduction of effectiveness, a force applied to the top surface equivalent to the total weight of identical packages stacked to a height of 3 m (including the test sample) for a duration of 24 hours

● Packaging Requirements for PI967 and PI970 “Where multiple pieces of equipment are packed in the same outer packaging, each piece of equipment must be packed to prevent contact with other equipment.”; and

● Overpacks for Section II of PI966, PI967, PI969 and PI970, the packages must be secured within the overpack and the intended function of each package must not be impaired by the overpack;

● Lithium Battery Mark - Remove Telephone number for additional information;

     
 

IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations for Personnel Responsible for Preparation of Dangerous Goods Consignments* and IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations for Personnel Responsible for Processing or Accepting DG Consignments (initial) - 4/5 days

This course is for Shippers and Forwarders who wish to become qualified to handle dangerous goods for air export and to sign the Shipper's Declaration for Dangerous Goods.
Participants will learn how to:

- reference the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations manual
- choose the appropriate packaging for air transportation
- package DG correctly and prepare documentation and labelling for DG shipment;

Prerequisite: participants must be able to read and write English

IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations for Personnel Responsible for Preparation of Dangerous Goods Consignments* and IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations for Personnel Responsible for Processing or Accepting DG Consignments (recurrent) - 3 days

This course is for Shippers and Forwarders who wish to renew their qualification for handling dangerous goods for air export and signing the Shipper's Declaration for Dangerous Goods.
Participants will learn how to:

- reference the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations manual
- choose the appropriate packaging for air transportation
- package DG correctly and prepare documentation and labelling for DG shipment;

Prerequisite: participants must have presivouly taken the Dangerrous Goods Regulations for Personnel of roles a and c and passed the DG exam

Accepting goods presented as general cargo (role b) and

Handling cargo in a warehouse and loading and unloading unit load devices (role d)

Participants who passed the role b test will receive the DG (role b) certificate, Participants who passed the role d test will receive the DG (role d) certificate, participants who passed the role b and the role d test will receive the DG (role b and d) certificate

Participants can also choose to receive an IATA DG 7.2/7.4 certificate, the additional fee is $200
